Hudson Valley Veterans Alliance
Semper Fi Parents of Hudson Valley (SFPHV) is a volunteer organization that has been active in the community since 2005. Started originally as a group for Marine parents, the organization is inclusive of ALL MILITARY HEROES and for ALL FAMILY MEMBERS, FRIENDS and SUPPORTERS. While Semper Fi is generally associated with the Marines who adopted the motto as their own in 1883, the meaning of Semper Fidelis is 'always faithful'. Regardless of which branch of the Armed Forces one may feel connected to, it is easy to feel 'always faithful' to all of our troops and our veterans...in support of everything they have given to us.
VETERANS & MILITARY FAMILIES: advocacy for those who have served on a wide range of issues, including veterans suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Military Sexual Trauma (MST), and/or facing denial of benefits, foreclosure, eviction, or consumer fraud. Veterans Benefits Counseling is provided at no cost by the New York State Division of Veterans’ Affairs.
The Veterans Services Group (VSG) at Finkelstein & Partners is a team of experienced and compassionate Veterans’ advocates and VA accredited attorneys who specialize in obtaining disability compensation benefits for Veterans and their families. VSG provides assistance with appealing decisions by the VA that negatively impact a Veteran’s benefits. Combat-related wounds, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Military Sexual Trauma (MST), and toxin/dioxin exposure (such as Agent Orange in Vietnam) are just a few examples of the types of cases the VSG handles. We represent Veterans in their disability compensation cases as well as eligible surviving spouses in their appeals for accrued and dependency and indemnity compensation (DIC) benefits in all 50 states.
The mission of the Veterans Services Group is to serve the brave men and women who have risked their lives defending our freedom. We aim to competently represent Veterans with the same dedication they have shown in serving our country.

VET2VET: VETERANS’ PEER SERVICES
Mental Health America of Dutchess County is so proud to be able to provide this as a new service to veterans in Dutchess County. The program has just started but you will find Program Manager Robert Jennings, (845) 473-2500 x1306, and Program Assistant Adam Roche, x1307, already out in the community.
Supported by the Joseph P. Dwyer Veterans Peer Funding
The program is for veterans of Dutchess County and available to all veterans and their families. We provide services to veterans from all eras, without restriction as to discharge date, type of discharge, or dependency status
The Hudson Valley Veterans Alliance was the recipient of proceeds from All Sport Fishkill's '2nd Annual Salute to the Veterans' Event. It took place in the town of Pleasant Valley NY. This was our first major fundraiser, and the proceeds have already gone to good use! Without All Sport Fishkill's contributions, we would not have been able to help the Veteran with his furnace install. Additionally, HVVA assisted a 78-year old former Army Guard MP in getting her outdated boiler running again just in time for winter. That was also made possible by this successful event. Lastly, we were able to buy the batteries for an electric scooter that will be donated to a Veteran in need. See our 'Events' page for more details!
Our newest partner in the business community is The Home Depot in Wappingers Falls. We work to connect veterans in immediate need of home repair with a local The Home Depot that is willing to address these dire issues. We are very excited to continue this partnership for as long as The Home Depot is willing to assist the neediest of veterans in the surrounding counties.
The Alliance urges you to support The Home Depot in Wappingers Falls, as this partnership is empowering our ability to help our community.
