Hudson Valley Veterans Alliance

Greetings to the General Public,

We are the Hudson Valley Veterans Alliance. We would like to use this page of our website to let you know what we are planning, and how you can get involved. This is a new feature! Please bear with us we further develop our website to reflect our mission, goals, and projects in 2017!

The Alliance is very excited to bring you Armed Forces Day on the Hudson, this year and every year following. The date is May 20, 2017 at Waryas Park, Poughkeepsie New York. All of the details will be published on our 'Events' page by February 15th. There will also be a blurb on Armed Forces Day 2017 in our quarterly newsletter, Up-Range, and shout-outs on social media! 'Like' our Facebook page to see it when it gets shared (Visit 'Contact Us' page).

Also under 'Events' we are posting pictures, descriptions, and links to all events we have hosted and supported in 2016. Again, we appreciate your patience as we are adding this information to our site.

Thank you all for visiting. Please stay plugged in by reading this, our Monthly Briefing, which will be published after every E-board monthly meeting!

January 2017:

I'm glad you are here! The Alliance has a lot of exciting stuff going on. Our last meeting was productive; most of the conversation revolved around Armed Forces Day on the Hudson. We are really excited about manifesting our vision of the community enjoying fun-filled activities alongside the military community. HVVA has reached out to several nonprofits that serve local veterans, and so this looks like a promising event. Next, we talked about transportation issues faced by local vets that have appointments to keep at Castle Point VA Hospital in Dutchess County. Where there is a will to provide solutions, there's a way!

The Alliance recently donated a scooter to Hudson River Housing for use by a veteran at Liberty Station. Check out the photos here:

MARCH 2017:

Messages from the Executive Board

We have so much going on. Since starting projects in an official capacity, we have been getting calls from Veteran agencies all over Dutchess County and other parts of the Hudson Valley for Veterans in need. This is a huge motivation behind our first annual fundraiser, happening on May 20th at Waryas Park from noon to sunset.

Click on the following link to see more about why we decided to celebrate Armed Forces Day, organizing a first annual fundraiser for The Alliance. Participating in Armed Forces Day on the Hudson is a direct way for you to change lives in very real ways. We hope to see you there!
